Blogging Photography Q&A + Polka Dot Date Night Look

Blogging Photography Q&A, date night outfit, polka dots, off the shoulder tops.

Last Friday my hubby and I enjoyed a date night out together. We had dinner and drinks at our favorite place before making our way to the movie theaters to watch Suicide Squad. My hubby and I are big fans of Marvel and DC comics movies. We love movies with tons of actions or a lot of laughs. Lucky for him I don’t like watching romantic movies or dramatic movies, so he doesn’t have to worry about me dragging him to see one. If you watched my snapchat this weekend you might have gotten an inside look into our little mini photo session before our date night. I get tons of questions about what goes on behind my blog pictures, so I decided to do a little quick Q&A about blogging photography. Here is an inside look in what goes into taking my blog photos, plus a fun date night look. Continue reading “Blogging Photography Q&A + Polka Dot Date Night Look”

How to Dress up Boyfriend Jeans

How to Dress up Boyfriend Jeans

What a busy week it has been. I’ve been a little behind on my post, but it’s because I’ve been distracted watching the Olympics. But hey, it only comes on every four years, and I can’t miss watching some of my favorite athletes perform. My top sports are swimming and gymnastics when it comes to the Olympic games, and lately I cannot get enough of Houston’s own Simone Biles. That girl is in a league of her own. It just amazes me to watch her routines. When I was a little girl I remember watching and dreaming one day of being in the Olympics for gymnastics, and though my time has come and gone for that dream, it still lives on for my future daughter. Lol I was so inspired I was doing cartwheels in my living room, and telling my hubby we need to have another kid soon so I can live vicariously through our future daughter. Hahaha I’m going to be one of those moms. I even looked up mommy and me tumbling classes me and Jayden can join next year. My little man is a little monkey and has non stop energy! We could both benefit from the class. But back to the topic, boyfriend jeans, and how you can dress them up for a fun date night look. Continue reading “How to Dress up Boyfriend Jeans”

Last month my hubby and I celebrated our two-year anniversary. We went out for dinner and drinks at Chelsea’s Wine Bar in Seabrook. The sunset was absolutely breath-taking, and the homemade sangria was delicious. Best $5 I’ve spent on a drink in a long time. If you haven’t been I highly recommend it.  I wore this outfit to our date, and received tons of compliments. This off the shoulder crop top and high-waisted jeans are perfect together for a fun flirty date night look. Check out how I styled these high-rise “mom” jeans below. Trending Tuesdays: Sequined Two Piece with Tobi

Sequined Two Piece with Tobi

My hubby and I went on our first adult outing with our friends child free this month when we were in Chicago. It was so much fun, and needless to say we let loose a bit. It was nice to hang out with friends and not have to worry about the kiddo. Usually one of us has to stay home while the other one goes out, but this was a nice change of pace to be both out with our friends.  This sequined two piece set from Tobi I wore that night is the perfect outfit to wear for a night out on the town or even for Labor Day which is only a month away. Check out how I styled it with some of my favorite turquoise tassel accessories and shoes.

7 Reasons Why Sorority Girls Make Great Bloggers + $1320 Giveaway

Thank you Charlotte’s Closet  for sponsoring this post.  As always all thoughts and opinions are mine alone. Thank you for supporting those who support this blog.7 Reasons Why Sorority Girls Are Great Bloggers

Earlier this month I attended my first ever Phi Mu National Convention in Chicago. It was such a beautiful event, and I’m so glad I got to check it off my Sorority bucket list. When I was in college I did everything with my sorority. I was treasurer, then president, and I represented my University in the 2010 Annual NIC/NPC Congressional Visits. I owe a lot to my sorority for shaping who I am today. I never dreamed when I first started college I would ever be a sorority girl. In fact I detested the mere idea of the stereotypical sorority girl, but like many things you can’t judge a book by its cover. I am so glad I went on that ice skating date with my Phi Mu sister Jennifer. It opened doors to Phi Mu, and once I was in I never looked back. I am now the biggest supporter of Greek life, and encourage all  women to give it a try. You never know when you will find your forever home. Phi Mu gave me a life time of memories with sisters I can grow old with, but it also taught me a lot about what it means to be a noble woman. Everything I’ve learned about being in a sorority has helped me a better blogger. Here are my top seven reasons why sorority girls make great bloggers.

Welcome Home - Doggy Basket Essential DIY

It’s been three months since we adopted our puppy Rotel, and he is the perfect addition to our growing family. Every morning there is nothing but laughter in our home with my little man and Rotel chasing each other around the house. Rotel is also Jayden’s ball assistant. Since my little man could hold a bat at the age of six months my hubby has been teaching him how to throw and hit a baseball. And now that we have Rotel in our family, he is always there to help fetch Jayden’s baseballs wherever he may hit or throw them. If you follow me on  Snapchat you will see the amazing bond these two have. It makes me so happy to see our little man grow up with his best friend. Adopting a dog has been one of the best decisions of our life, and that’s why I have teamed up with Kroger and Purina to  share with you a simple Welcome Home Doggy Gift Basket DIY to make your furry friend feel extra special and at home.

A Couple’s Weekend Travel Guide To Chicago + Giveaway with Betsy Boo’s Boutique

A Couple's Weekend Travel Guide To Chicago

This week has been a busy week. My hubby and I celebrated our two-year anniversary! We had an amazing night, having wine and dinner with a beautiful sunset view on the water, and then topped it off with our very own s’mores bar. It was absolutely perfect. If you didn’t get to check it out on Snapchat, I posted this picture of my outfit and the view on my Instagram. Two weeks ago we went to Chicago for a little weekend getaway to mark our second year of marriage and our first trip out of the state without the baby. It was hard for us to leave the little guy, but we knew he was in good hands with our family. Those three days in Chicago were amazing. It was one of the most beautiful cities I have ever been  to, great weather, delicious food, and we stayed in one of the best hotels in Chicago. There are so many things to do and see especially in three days in Chicago, so I teamed up with the Betsy Boo’s Boutique to give you the best tips on what to wear, where to go, places to eat, and where to stay from a couple’s perspective. Our Love Story – I Don’t Believe in Love at First Sight

Our Love Story - I Do Not Believe in Love at First Sight

I do not believe in love at first sight. Actually I DO when it comes to shoes, food, puppies, kittens.  and seeing my little man for the first time. So I guess I’m lying when I say I don’t but when it comes to our love story it was not the case. Our love story is the quote ” Timing is everything. If it is meant to happen, it will, at the right time at the right reason.” I one hundred percent believe in God’s plan, and our story embodies it every way. I remember looking back at all the heart breaks, the single days, and all the other times it never worked out, and I thank God every day for it. Because it lead me to the man of my dreams, my prince charming, my love for eternity. Gag now while you read this post, and I’m sure my twenty five year old single self would have been gagging reading this too, but it is surprising how one person can change your views in love. P.S. Excuse the grammar, I am just so passionate about this story, I’m writing from the heart, and sometimes my heart has run on sentences. 😉 So lets begin to the first day this Princess met her Prince. A Checklist for Summer Dresses

A Checklist for Summer Dresses

This past weekend when my hubby and I were walking down the Magnificent Mile in Chicago, we stopped by this beautiful church to take pictures. We were drawn in by the cascading wall of green vines that grew on the side of the church. When we walked in we saw this beautiful fountain in the courtyard. It was like walking back in time. I love older churches and their architecture. This dress I wore had the most adorable oversized ruffle sleeves. It was the perfect summer dress for touring Chicago, and visiting a church. Below I have guest author Jenny Laws from London, sharing her simple checklist for summer dresses.
