7 NYFW Designers Who Are Rocking the Runway

cushnie-et-ochs-spring-2017-rtw

Last Wednesday was the kick off for New York Fashion Week in New York City.  It is one of the most talked about weeks in New York City and what every fashion blogger looks forward for inspiration for next year’s style. This year I was really blown away from the non household name designers we don’t hear of or see much of down here in Texas. I loved the silky silhouettes, the lace and ruffle details, and gorgeous waist line details I saw in this week’s shows. Here are seven of my favorite collections from this past week’s shows. These designers are rocking this year’s New York Fashion show!

Office Inspiration: 6 Tips to a Chic Workspace with Francesca's by Houston blogger Dawn P. Darnell

Every girl dreams of having their own personal workspace they can call their own, and as a mom I love having a place I can escape from the hustle and bustle of mom life, where I can focus on my blog with zero interruption. At my house it’s my Girl Boss cave, meaning no boys allowed, unless of course there is hugs and kisses involved or room service to refill my coffee cup. So late at night it is usually just me and Sasha (my cat) getting work done while the boys are asleep.  If you follow me on  Snapchat my office has been a work in progress. But this month I’m so excited to team up with Francesca’s and share some office inspiration to revamp my work space from drab to fab with these 6 simple tips to making your home office look CHIC!

Can you believe it summer is almost over and it’s another school year is starting? This weekend has been a blur, spending it with my family from out-of-town. In addition, my aunt and cousins  are relocating from Oklahoma to Houston and finally found a home only 10 minutes away from my parent’s. We are so excited to have more family down here, and we cannot wait for the holidays. Because when Filipino’s get together, they do it big. Plus, the food is amazing! Furthermore, my hubby and I went for a movie date night this past week, and I wore this outfit below. I never thought I would say it but I am loving the bodysuit and choker trend. My hubby thinks it’s pretty sexy too lol.;) Therefore, being inspired my outfit, here are five transitional trends to bring into fall and my full outfit details below!

Back to School Mommy Style

Back to School Mommy Style, fitness, destructed jeans

I’m so excited for school to start this year. Jayden will be doing three days of Mother’s Day Out at the best MDO program in Clear Lake. He went last year for two days and loved it. I’m also excited to have a couple of hours for myself to focus on my blog and my fitness . The year has been a struggle with me trying to balance it all, and getting pulled in all different directions. But this school year I decided to make a change and focus on three things that mattered to me most, my family, fitness, and my blogging. It will be a busy school year for the both us, and I am sharing my mommy style for back to school that will get me through the day in comfort and style. Continue reading “Back to School Mommy Style”

Blogging Photography Q&A + Polka Dot Date Night Look

Blogging Photography Q&A, date night outfit, polka dots, off the shoulder tops.

Last Friday my hubby and I enjoyed a date night out together. We had dinner and drinks at our favorite place before making our way to the movie theaters to watch Suicide Squad. My hubby and I are big fans of Marvel and DC comics movies. We love movies with tons of actions or a lot of laughs. Lucky for him I don’t like watching romantic movies or dramatic movies, so he doesn’t have to worry about me dragging him to see one. If you watched my snapchat this weekend you might have gotten an inside look into our little mini photo session before our date night. I get tons of questions about what goes on behind my blog pictures, so I decided to do a little quick Q&A about blogging photography. Here is an inside look in what goes into taking my blog photos, plus a fun date night look. Continue reading “Blogging Photography Q&A + Polka Dot Date Night Look”

How to Dress up Boyfriend Jeans

How to Dress up Boyfriend Jeans

What a busy week it has been. I’ve been a little behind on my post, but it’s because I’ve been distracted watching the Olympics. But hey, it only comes on every four years, and I can’t miss watching some of my favorite athletes perform. My top sports are swimming and gymnastics when it comes to the Olympic games, and lately I cannot get enough of Houston’s own Simone Biles. That girl is in a league of her own. It just amazes me to watch her routines. When I was a little girl I remember watching and dreaming one day of being in the Olympics for gymnastics, and though my time has come and gone for that dream, it still lives on for my future daughter. Lol I was so inspired I was doing cartwheels in my living room, and telling my hubby we need to have another kid soon so I can live vicariously through our future daughter. Hahaha I’m going to be one of those moms. I even looked up mommy and me tumbling classes me and Jayden can join next year. My little man is a little monkey and has non stop energy! We could both benefit from the class. But back to the topic, boyfriend jeans, and how you can dress them up for a fun date night look. Continue reading “How to Dress up Boyfriend Jeans”

Thursday Throwback: Mom Jeans Bringing Sexy Back

Mom Jeans Bringing Sexy Back

Last month my hubby and I celebrated our two-year anniversary. We went out for dinner and drinks at Chelsea’s Wine Bar in Seabrook. The sunset was absolutely breath-taking, and the homemade sangria was delicious. Best $5 I’ve spent on a drink in a long time. If you haven’t been I highly recommend it.  I wore this outfit to our date, and received tons of compliments. This off the shoulder crop top and high-waisted jeans are perfect together for a fun flirty date night look. Check out how I styled these high-rise “mom” jeans below.
