35 and Pregnant Again!

Hi friends,

I officially turned 35 this week! I spent this past weekend celebrating with family and enjoying a little staycation at the Grand Galvez.  It’s been recently renovated and it is absolutely stunning! We loved our stay there. This year is the second birthday in a row I’ve been pregnant. It’s crazy to think I will be thirty five with two under two. I like to say I am in my Rihanna era because Rihanna is also thirty five, with both our previous babies born in May, and a second one on the way. She has been my inspiration for rocking my pregnancy since she preformed at the Super Bowl pregnant.

I honestly felt a little down on myself because I felt I was getting too old. Technically when you turn thirty five they say you are having a “Geriatric pregnancy”. But this pregnancy has me feeling stronger than ever. I am thankful for my body for being able to carry another baby. After having two miscarriages previously before Ella, a healthy baby is always a blessing. I definitely don’t take it for granted. So here I am at 35 pregnant with baby number three and enjoying every minute of it. Of course I had to dress up a bit to document this time. So here’s a little birthday photoshoot and some photos of this past weekend birthday celebration!

How amazing is this Chanel cake from Butter Baby Bakery. She did my baby shower cake too and it was absolutely stunning. My husband just told her a few of my favorite things and she knocked it out of the park. It was as delicious as it looks too! Honestly it was the best birthday I could ask for. My hubby always finds a way to spoil me on my day. I am so thankful I get to spend the rest of my birthdays with him by my side.

This year I am thankful for another year with my family, being a mom, a wife, and bringing another beautiful baby in this world. I couldn’t ask for a better way to spend my birthday.

Keystone Colorado Family Trip

keystone resort, snowboarding family, snow trip

Hi friends,

Hope you are doing well! We just got back from our yearly snowboarding trip for Jayden’s eight birthday in Keystone. As a mom I always give the option of a birthday trip or party for our family and 90% of the time we always choose to take a trip together. Plus I honestly can’t think of a better way to celebrate than exploring the world with your family. Check out more of our family trip recap below!

Made a lunch stop at our favorite town Frisco, which is fifteen minutes from Keystone where we stayed. This town is so cute, and if you aren’t an avid snowboarder or skier and want to be in a cute picturesque town with fun snow activities this place is great. Check out all our times we stayed here.

Can’t get over how cute Ella is. She is always such a happy travel baby.

I can’t believe how big Jayden looks. Check out this post of his very first time coming to Colorado, and his first time snowboarding.

We put Jayden in snowboarding school for two days and by the end of it he was already doing 360 turns. I can’t believe how good he is getting. He is so fearless. I was going to take lessons, but plans changed with Ella, so instead Josh and I took turns watching her and going down the slopes with Jayden. It was so much fun to be able to snowboard with my family, and Ella slept through it all. She is seriously the best travel baby.

Thankful for these memories with my little ones. They are my favorite travel companions.

This time around we stayed at the Keystone Resort area so we could ski in and ski out from our airBnB. It was very convenient because we could walk everywhere and easily get to our house when we needed a break. If you have kids I 100% recommend staying as close as the slopes possible so you don’t have to drive. Keystone was very family friendly and not super crowded at all. We will definitely be back.

Thanks for stopping by! Check out more family travel post here!

Jayden’s 5 Year Portraits

Hi friends!

I can’t believe the day is here, my little man turns five! It’s crazy to think how time flies, even more so when you watch your children grow. This year makes me a little sad though, because this is the year my son goes into kindergarten. It’s a good thing don’t get me wrong, but for some reason I feel like I am losing my little baby. Day by day my little man starts growing into a young man and I don’t know if my heart can take it. I just want these moments to last forever. I remember I use to worry about my son sleeping in our bed, and now I cherish everyday he chooses to sleep with us, because it’s at night when he’s asleep where he still looks like my little baby. I cherish every hug, every kiss, and every time he still needs his mama, because I know as he gets older there will be a day where I am longer his center of his world. I don’t know if I’ll ever be ready for that day, but today I’m just thankful. Thankful for another wonderful year to watch my son grow older. So today I am sharing these beautiful portraits we took with our son and our dog for his 5th birthday. Thank you so much Alexis from Candid Kids Photography for capturing my son so beautifully. I will cherish these photos forever.  Continue reading “Jayden’s 5 Year Portraits”

This past weekend I hosted a blogger brunch at the La Table Houston with my  favorite boss babes. La Table is a French inspired restaurant that has four different dinning experience in one. For our event we chose to have a casual dining experience at Marche in the outdoor patio. The French inspired decor and menu is a blogger brunch dream. We were served a tasting menu that incorporated Marche’s new seasonal menu features lighter fare including new vegan and vegetarian options. Everything was absolutely beautiful and delicious. Check out more of the brunch at La Table and details of my spring inspired brunch outfit below.  Continue reading “Spring Brunch at La Table Houston”

29 Life Lessons I learned in my 20’s

little white dress, cocktail dress, chickwish, spring style, white dress

Can’t believe I am 29! Time sure does fly by, especially more now that I have a family of my own. This past weekend we went to our 3rd annual trip to Dallas to visit family and support the Texas Rangers. (View our past trips here and here.) We come from a baseball family, and there’s nothing more that makes this mama’s heart melt than seeing my husband and son share their love for the game. On Saturday the night before my birthday, when we went to the game my hubby surprised me with the sweetest birthday message on the big jumbotron at the Ranger’s stadium. And to top it off, since Josh’s Uncle manages the Rangers, we were able to sit right behind President George W. Bush and meet him at the game! Now that’s a pretty awesome way to remember my 29th birthday. I’m really thankful to be able to have such wonderful family to celebrate with on my birthday, and as I near my thirties I can’t help but reflect on how much I have learned and grown in my twenties. I never imagined my life would be like this, and never could imagine how amazing life would be. I look back at all my throwback pictures and can’t help but laugh at all the crazy good times, and lessons learned. My 20’s were something else, and there isn’t a single thing I regret about it, not even my poor choice in “hoochie mama” clothing during my college party days lol. All of my choices, all of my heartaches, all of my mistakes, help me be who I am today. So here are 29 life lessons I learned in my 20’s. Continue reading “29 Life Lessons I learned in my 20’s”
