When Tragedy Strikes – Dealing with a Mother’s Guilt
Last Friday I had planned to post my Friday Favorites with this outfit, but after waking up and finding out another school shooting happened not even 15 miles from where I live, I became an emotional wreck. All the fears, anxiety, and guilt as a mom overwhelmed me. All I could think about was the mothers who lost their children that day, who would never be able to see their children graduate, and all I could think was this the future for my child. So many questions, scenarios came up in my head, and for a time I just felt helpless, guilty, unworthy as a mom to protect my own child. It’s hard as a mom these days to watch the news, to hear all the tragedies with school shootings, senseless shootings, lives of innocent children lost, and not have immense guilt and feeling of not doing enough in a time of tragedy. There’s so much we need to do, so much we need to change, and yet it can be so overwhelming knowing we cannot do it all. Today I’m sharing how I’ve been dealing with the anxiety and the guilt as a mom, and what has helped me cope during these hard times.

Winter Essentials for Your Next Snow Trip
Happy Friday everyone!
Last week I did a Q&A on Instastories about what to bring when going skiing or snowboarding or traveling in the mountains where it is below freezing and snow and ice everywhere. There are so many things I learned when it comes to staying warm, keeping your skin hydrated and from cracking in the higher and dryer altitudes, and the shoes you need from slipping and sliding off the mountains. Yep I fell a couple of times on my butt wearing the wrong kind of shoes. I definitely over packed and brought a lot of things I didn’t even wear, because lets face it when it’s below freezing, and you are running around tubing, snowboarding, and hiking, practicality comes first over fashion. So today I rounded up the absolute winter essentials you need to bring for your next snow trip.

Palm Print Dress for Under $20
Happy Friday everyone!
Today I am sharing my last summer look from our vacation. I can’t believe next month we will be getting into fall even though it is still hot as Hades outside here in Houston. I wore this pretty palm print dress for under $20 to dinner when we were in Jupiter Beach. I loved it because of the off the shoulder ruffle detail and the light weight breezy material. I am all about fashion that I won’t sweat in especially living down here in Texas. I paired this dress with my favorite lace up summer block heels, and my monogrammed straw bag which was my go to bag for my trip. Check out my outfit here and here with the same bag and shoes. This dress also makes a great swimsuit cover up as well with its wrap waist detail. For the full look check out the rest of the post below.
