Let’s face it, as a mom  I live in basics: jeans, a comfy tee, and sunglasses to hide the tired bags under my eyes. Anything comfy and easy to run around are my mom style essentials. And though we might all have the same mom essentials doesn’t mean we can’t have our own unique style or one of a kind vibe. Today I’m sharing three different looks with Belk + True Craft  and sharing tips on how you can have your “one of a kind vibe”  with your basic mom essentials to create your own unique style.

Family Vacation Packing List

MOMMY AND ME OUTFITS, MOMMY AND SON OUTFIT, POLO AND WHITE PANTS, WRAP DRESS

Tomorrow we officially head out for our family vacation! This cutie is excited because he is going to Disney World! We can’t be more thrilled to be able to take our son to Disney World for the first time. It is one of our many stops in Florida. We will also be heading to Seaside, Jensen Beach, Jupiter, West Palm Beach, Rosemary Beach, and Alys Beach and visiting all of our friends along the way. Five years ago I lived in Jensen Beach for two years and made some of my best friends out there. It is like a second home to me. The last time we visited I was 4 months pregnant with Jayden, and now that he is two it will be exciting to have him meet everyone for the first time. I’ve been preparing for this trip for over a month now, getting all the outfits ready for the hubs and little man. And as a mom on a budget I made sure to shop some deals at my favorite stores for my family. Below I’m sharing what we are packing for our trip and how you can shop on a budget too!

The One Lesson Every Child Needs to Learn this Summer

Thank you Wolfies Swim School  for partnering up with me on this post.  As always all thoughts and opinions are mine alone. Thank you for supporting those who support this blog.

During these hot summer days there is nothing we love more than to cool off by the pool or the beach. And one thing I wanted to make sure to do this year was teach Jayden how to swim. Statistically more children under the age of five drown than any other age group, and I didn’t want Jayden to be one of those statistics.  So this summer I teamed up with Wolfies Swim School to work with Jayden on teaching him how to swim. He had two weeks one on one private lessons with the teacher and two months group lessons. We really enjoyed going  there because not only was it centrally located in the Rice Village area, we were only minutes from our favorite brunch place and the zoo, but also because Jayden enjoyed being a little shark at the pool and is learning valuable skills that may save his life in the future. Check out more of our experience with Wolfies Swim School below.

Sweet Knot Bustier Top and Flap Skirt Set

Sweet Knot Bustier Top and Flap Skirt Set,bustier top, crop top, two piece dress, bauble ball earring, block heels, and cheetah clutch, chicwish, date night outfit

Hey everyone,

Hope you are having an amazing week. This past weekend I went to New Orleans to celebrate my mom’s birthday. I wore this classic Sweet Knot Bustier Top and Flap Skirt set to dinner and a jazz/burlesque show afterwards. It was an absolute blast and this dress was fitting for the occasion. I was a little hesitate about wearing this knowing it was a two piece. I was worried it would show to much of my mid section but to my surprise it didn’t! It should just enough to be alluring and still classy. Check out the full look below and how I styled it.

Weekend Travel Guide to New Orleans + Travel Vlog

Hey guys,

Hope everyone had a great 4th of July. Late post for this mama as we spent all day with the family yesterday and we didn’t get home till midnight. Today I am finally sharing my video blog of our fun weekend girls trip earlier this month and all my recommendations for when you go to New Orleans. I am so thankful to have partnered up with the New Orleans Convention & Visitor Bureau and their partners for this fun trip. I took my mom and my sister for their first time and they had a blast. My mom even had her first frozen hurricane on Bourbon Street. New Orleans will always be one of my favorite cities. I have been their five times and I always find something new that I love. It is such a wonderful city full of history, culture, beautiful  Southern architecture, and the best creole food (my favorite!). So check out my video blog and my weekend travel guide to New Orleans below! Continue reading “Weekend Travel Guide to New Orleans + Travel Vlog”

The Ugly Truth About Potty Training When You’ve Had Enough

mommy and me, boy mom, potty training, red, white, and blue, daniel wellington watch

So it’s been a month since Jayden has been diaper free and accident free at night. We have officially transitioned into underwear, no training pants, no pull ups for a month, and since last week no more baby potty. Jayden has full transitioned using the full size toilet at home and using public restrooms . We are so proud of our little man, especially since he has started swim lessons, no swim diapers either! But let me tell you. It has been quite a journey, probably one of the most stressful things I had to deal with since breast-feeding. We read the books, read tons of blog post on how to potty train, and let me tell you by saying yes they have great tips but they all tell you the same thing. Wait till he is ready, don’t force it. Really??? Yes that is all great if you have all the patience in the world, but if you are a mom like me, who hates changing poopie diapers, who is over trying to hold my active toddler down just to change his diaper, tired of spending so much money on diapers, carrying a diaper bag, and who is just plain over it, then this is for you. This is my story, and my ugly truth about potty training when you’ve had enough.

Guide to Choosing Your First Hunter Boots

Hey guys,

With hurricane season down here in full effect in Houston, my rain boots are definitely a staple in my wardrobe. I love my new hunter boots I just purchased, but it took me awhile to find the right fit for my petite frame. One thing about being so short (5’2”) and petite is sometimes you have the option to buy adult or buy kids boots. I decided before settling on a pair, to order three different kinds of hunter boots to see which one fit me best. I ordered the original tall, the hunter boots, and the kids size. Check out my video and pictures in this post to see which one worked best for me!

Happy Monday everyone!

Today I am sharing one of my favorite looks for summer and tips on how you can rock it too. Let’s face it I love distressed jeans. I am sure every pair of jeans in my closet has some holes and tears in it. When I found these ripped jeans I automatically fell in love. They were the perfect light wash and just enough rips and destruction. It is easy to  wear distressed jeans for a casual look with your favorite t-shirt and sneakers, but you can also dress it up for this casual Friday work look like I did here. Home Office Tour

I can’t believe it. I am finally done! My home office is officially complete after a year of putting it together. I think the biggest thing for me was making sure to keep true to my own unique style by incorporating pieces that have personal meaning so it inspires me. I love all the bright colors, pops of gold and yellow, and all my inspirational wall art. My office is where I spend most of my time creating, writing, and brain storming for my blog. It is also multi functional as a dressing room, with a vanity desk separate from my working desk, so I have space and room to play around with my make up, as well as make YouTube videos. It is the one place in the house that the boys are not allowed in. It’s my Girl Cave. I have to give a special shout out to my wonderful husband who helped make my vision came to life. Half of these pieces were either constructed, painted or put together by him. So I hope you enjoyed this home office tour, I’ve linked as much as I can from my office below.
