Alright so today is all about the evening festivities of Day two at New York Fashion Week and this velvet Military dress. It is such a big trend this fall, and I am so glad I incorporated it in one of my looks for NYFW. Plus it was the perfect outfit for the cooler weather we had that Friday night. Friday night was a fun filled night. I hosted my first event, and met one of my favorite designers and beauty bloggers. For more details of the night read more below…
NYFW SEPTEMBER 2017 DAY 2 – Brooklyn bridge + GIVEAWAY!
Hey everyone,
So in continuation of my Day One NYFW recap, today I will be recapping day two. I wore three outfits for day two but will only be breaking it down into two different post. So much happened that I want to make sure I cover it all without getting too long and overdrawn in the first post. Today’s recap will also include this outfit and our Brooklyn Bridge photo shoot. It was a dream come true to shoot on this bridge. I lived out my Sex and the City dreams up here. Plus the views of the city was spectacular. I can’t wait to show you on my Video Blog recap.
Hey everyone, hope you had a great weekend! Today I am officially starting my day-to-day breakdown of my first New York Fashion week experience. I was there for five days, and I learned so much while I was there. I know ya’ll have tons of questions, so for this next month not only will I be breaking down the days, but I will also have a YouTube video with a NYFW travel guide, as well as tips on how I got invited, and how to work with brands. But without further ado, here is the first day recap of NYFW and my edgy rocker inspired first outfit featuring this pink lace romper I wore to the shows.
Today I wanted to take a break from all of my NYFW to share what’s on my heart. This week has been surreal, surpassing my wildest dreams. I remember laying there in my hotel room, a midst all the chaos, and all I could think about was how thankful I was. How thankful I was to have such a wonderful husband who was working double after the Hurricane Harvey disaster with work and then coming home after a late night to take care of Jayden, all while encouraging me to have the time of my life at New York Fashion Week. But even before I got invited to NYFW, he had already promised me he would take me to NYC so I can live out my Sex and the City dreams. If you know my husband, he is a simple guy, he isn’t into big cities, photos, and the latest trends, but he has always been the thoughtful one. From the moment we were dating, I remember him surprising me with orchestra seats to the Houston Ballet to see the Nutcracker because it was something I had dreamed of seeing. He has always gone out of his way, out of his comfort zone to help me achieve my dreams. So today I wanted to share these photos my husband surprised me with for our anniversary, and a letter to my Instagram husband.
Sorry I have been MIA this past week on the blog, but I finally got back from New York Fashion Week. I completely underestimated how much time I would have on my trip to work on my blog. I was up at 6am doing photoshoots at 7am and wouldn’t get back from some events till midnight. Haha I don’t know what I was thinking in regards to time. But I definitely had the best first time experience ever, and I can’t wait to break it day by day everything that happened. I am still processing everything at this moment and will be posting the recap next week. Until then here is my NYFW September 2017 Instagram Roundup of all the outfits I wore.
Alright first of all, let me tell you how nervous I am right now and maybe even a little overwhelmed. Tomorrow we are headed out to New York Fashion Week, and we are going to hit the ground running. I can’t believe in one month I was able to get as much done as I have with everything that goes into NYFW. Let me tell you it is not the faint of heart. I definitely think I had an advantage with having worked with several brands and PR companies in NYC. To tell you the truth I didn’t think I would be invited to NYFW. I mean me, a small little Texas mom blogger? Who would have thought? I still can’t believe I am making one of my biggest dreams come true, and I am getting to work with some amazing brands to give you the full NYFW experience. So without further ado, as I said in my previous NYFW post here is my NYFW schedule:
What I am Wearing to NYFW + 3 Tips for staying Organized While Packing
Happy Labor Day!
For those who follow my Instagram and watch my Instagram then you might already know I am headed to New York Fashion Week this week! It has been a crazy whirlwind of a month, as I didn’t even plan on going. I think I would have felt super guilty for leaving my family if it wasn’t a work related trip with everything that’s been going on down here in Houston. Plus unless you have sponsors, it gets pretty pricey to go with clothes and travel expenses. Well long story short last month probably the end of July I started getting invites and offers from PR companies and brands I worked with for NYFW. I was fortunate to have my outfits sponsored for NYFW and to be able to work with an amazing hotel and restaurants for my NYFW City guide. I’m also excited to have an opportunity to work with some top beauty brands and share behind the scene looks for the runway shows. I will be sharing the full schedule details in the next post. But today I want to share what I am wearing to NYFW and 3 tips for staying organized while packing.

If There is One Thing You Can Do to Help Us, Do This.
Hey guys so I had this really amazing post for you guys about tips of finding a family photographer, and of course to share all of these beautiful family photos we took with Olya Helga Photography. But instead I wanted to share what is heavy on my heart lately. As all of ya’ll know we have been going through a lot down here in Houston with the Hurricane Harvey after math and the flooding that came with it. If you have been watching my Instastories you know we have been unable to reach our family do to the streets being flooded. Family who live not even fifteen minutes away, and it is truly disheartening. But I think what is most disheartening is reading all the negative things people are saying about God’s word and towards the people who preach it. Would you believe me if I told you I was criticized and told I was insensitive because I attributed my family’s safety and our house not being flooded to the power of prayer and to the glory of God? I never thought in my life I would be criticized for my belief, and by a fellow Christian surprisingly, especially during this time where we need prayer the most.
Transitioning from Summer to Fall: What to Wear After Labor Day
Happy Monday everyone. It’s been a crazy couple of days with Hurricane Harvey coming through Houston. There has been major flooding near where I live and even tornadoes. We are fortunate that our neighborhood and our families are safe, but with the roads still flooded we are unable to reach them even though they are on fifteen minutes down the road from us. We are thankful we have enough food, supplies, and power, and I am still able to blog and give you an update, but we are still not in the clear with the storm. Hopefully in the next two days the water will recede and we will be able to reunite with our families and friends. As of now we are buckling down in our homes and enjoying the quality time as a family. I want to thank everyone for keeping us in our prayers.
With Labor Day is just around the corner so is fall, and I know living in down here in Houston it may still feel like summer for a couple of months. But that doesn’t mean you can’t incorporate fall pieces into your wardrobe. Below I am sharing tips on what to wear after Labor Day, and the things you can buy now, wear and now, and later, including this outfit above.
Today I am sharing my last summer look from our vacation. I can’t believe next month we will be getting into fall even though it is still hot as Hades outside here in Houston. I wore this pretty palm print dress for under $20 to dinner when we were in Jupiter Beach. I loved it because of the off the shoulder ruffle detail and the light weight breezy material. I am all about fashion that I won’t sweat in especially living down here in Texas. I paired this dress with my favorite lace up summer block heels, and my monogrammed straw bag which was my go to bag for my trip. Check out my outfit here and here with the same bag and shoes. This dress also makes a great swimsuit cover up as well with its wrap waist detail. For the full look check out the rest of the post below.
Thank you Jupiter Beach Resort for partnering up with me this post. As always all thoughts and opinions are mine alone. Thank you for supporting those who support this blog.
Finally sharing our last and final travel guide with you of our vacation. We visited old friends in Jupiter, Florida and had such an amazing time. What I love about Jupiter, Florida is it is a hidden gem on the west coast. Known for its high-profile celebrity residents, the best PGA golfing, and beautiful serene beaches, this is the town you visit when you want to escape from the touristy areas of Florida. This is where you can enjoy a relaxing vacation on a private beach and escape from the hustle and bustle of every day life and feel at home in this quaint little beach town.
