8 Daily Activities You Can Do to Stay Fit Without Having to Go the Gym

Can you believe it in one month summer will be soon upon us, and I know what you are thinking bikini season! But who has time to go to the gym, juggle a career, work on a blog, and manage time with their family? I know I don’t! Trying to fit in time to go to the gym is nearly impossible. So how do I stay fit and active without going to the gym? You can check out my post pregnancy transformation here. Mom’s this one’s for you, because I get it. I use to be the biggest gym rat before I had Jayden, even worked out during my pregnancy, but after I had Jayden I realized it wouldn’t be that easy for me to go to the gym everyday. How to Rock Denim Short Overalls in the Summer

This weekend I’m looking forward to our annual family trip to Dallas to visit family and support the Texas Rangers. Since Josh’s Uncle got named the manager of the Ranger’s last year, we have become the biggest Texas Rangers fan in Houston. (P.S. We love the Astros too!) We are so excited to visit our family up there and take Jayden to watch the games. He went to his very first baseball game when he was 3 months old last year for opening day for the Rangers. (Visit post here.) One perk about this weekend, due to some amazing blogging opportunities, my hubby, our little guy, and I will be staying the weekend at the Hilton in Arlington, literally minutes from Globe Life Park. 10 Tips to Success for First Time Bloggers

10 Tips to Success for First Time Bloggers

This year I reached some blogging milestones. I had my first post published in Huffington Post. I am now getting paid for post on my blog and my Instagram. Brands are paying to advertise on my blog. I had a the opportunity to collaborate with Nordstrom for a paid shopping spree, and I had my first all inclusive complementary travel blogger experience. It was a year of first and blogger dreams come true, but it was also a year of sleepless nights, frustration, and sheer exhaustion. I had tons of help from fellow bloggers, and my family to get me through my first blogging year. You see what most people don’t realize about blogging, is that it takes time, lots of planning, and help to create a good post. It isn’t as glamorous as it may seem on social media, and it can be a full-time job for those who pursue it as a career. I was able to experience success in the business aspect of blogging, but it wasn’t easy. But through my own trial and error here are ten tips to success that will help you in your first year blogging. Continue reading “10 Tips to Success for First Time Bloggers”

This month we welcomed in our new addition to our family, Rocky Rotel Darnell. We decided to add to our pet family with our first family dog. Sasha was my first pet I adopted six years ago when I had just graduated college. But now that I’m married, and the mom to the cutest little guy, my hubby and I decided it was time to get a dog our son could grow up with.  It took us three weeks and several adoption agencies later and we finally found our match. We adopted him from the Save Rescue Coalition, and we couldn’t be happier. Continue reading “6 Ways to Keep Your Home Smelling Fresh When you Have Pets”

With Spring here and summer just around the corner, tassels have become a major trend this season. I love everything tasselled. They are the perfect accessory to complete your boho chic look. Tassels and monograms, two of my favorite things and even better when they’re together. When MarleyLilly sent me this beautiful tassel clutch I was beyond thrilled to pair it up with these fun monogrammed tassel earrings. Continue reading “Trendy Tassel Accessories for the Summer”

Weekend At the Westin in the Woodlands

Weekend At the Westin in the Woodlands

This weekend my hubby and I had the privileged to stay the night at the new Westin in the Woodlands. We were so excited to have a little weekend getaway from home and have some much-needed adult time to ourselves. I loved the area, because we were still only an hour away from home and from our little guy. Plus the hotel is brand new and next to all the latest restaurants, bars, and shopping, we could walk anywhere.

7 Anti-Aging Tips for Younger Looking Skin

7 Anti-Aging Tips for Younger Looking Skin

Last month I had my very first facial massage at Massage Envy thanks to my wonderful husband. I enjoyed it very much, but it was an eye opener that I needed to take better care of my skin. Since I was in high school I’ve had the same skincare regiment. I’m pretty low maintenance, I wash my face in the morning and before bed and moisturize after washing, and yes with the same products I’ve been using since high school. But thankfully I have realized as I’ve gotten older my skin has changed too, and though I am pretty fortunate to have been blessed with pretty good skin, my worries are no longer about acne and pimples, but about fine lines and wrinkles. Here are some anti-aging tips for younger looking skin:

Spring Forward

Spring Forward

Last weekend I put my best foot forward at a Spring blogger brunch with my favorite blogger babes in Houston. Once a month I try to get out of my suburban mom life, ditch the sweats and jeans, and head into the city with the cutest outfit I own to meet up with these ladies. I know it may sound superficial, but when you are a mom, it is really important to do things for yourself and just for yourself. Blogging has given me a voice and a creative outlet to pursue my passions. It is something I do for me. Continue reading “Spring Forward”

Off the Shoulder Street Style

Off the Shoulder Street Style

This past week was a challenging time for me and my husband as parents. Our little guy got his first ear infection and gave us a scare when his fever was over 104 degrees! We rushed to the ER only to find out it was a common thing for children his age, and not as life threatening matter as we had feared. Apparently we weren’t giving Jayden the right dosage of Tylenol to break his fever, and were only giving half of the recommended dosage. I think one of the most frustrating things about being a first time parent is learning what and what not to freak out over, and even more stressful when both parents don’t agree.
