4 Tips to Growing Your Network as a Blogger + Red Romper

Hey guys happy Monday,

Hope ya’ll had a great weekend! Hubs was home from work so we were busy enjoying all the fun fall and Halloween festivities with our family and friends. Also another exciting thing is I reached 30k on Instagram this weekend. When I hit milestones like this I love sharing blogging tips that really helped me on my blogging journey, and today I am talking all about networking. One of the best things you can do to grow your business and your blog is grow your network. I have met so many of my best blogger friends, business partners, and made the most collaborations through actively growing my network. Here are four tips to growing your network as a blogger, plus I’m also sharing how I styled this pretty red romper.

4 Tips to Growing Your Network as a Blogger

1. Reach Out to other Influencers

This is probably the hardest one, because people can be so busy that they forget to email you back, or even respond, but if you are following a blogger that you would like to meet one day, I say follow them and don’t be shy in commenting on their post or answering their Instastories. It’s crazy how many new bloggers I’ve met simply through Instagram. I would say this, be real, and don’t be fake. It is easy to spot out when someone is being genuine or not. Also unless is it a public event, if you don’t know them personally don’t ask for an invitation to go to a private event. It is awkward on both sides, especially when they cannot invite you for business reasons. And that also goes with business contacts. It is a business faux pas to give contact freely to people you don’t personally know.

2.  Join Facebook Groups in Your blogging niche

I have learned so much from joining blogging Facebook groups. I am in several that are location, and niche specific. It is really easy to join these and a great way to meet other bloggers. Most groups just require you to have your blog and social channels public for verification. Read more about the Facebook groups I’ve joined here.

3. Attend public blogging/networking events

I just attended the Create and Cultivate conference last week and met my girl power idols Sophia Bush and Courtney Kerr. I also met some amazing new bloggers I had only known through Instagram for the first time. Usually your fellow bloggers, boutiques, restaurants in your area will host events, workshops, meet and greets. Don’t be shy, even if you don’t know anyone. Introduce yourself and mix and mingle. Not everyone will be your best friend but you might find a couple of contacts here and there. I went to my very first event hosted by Lipstick and Brunch with my son when I first started blogging. It was from there where I met Nicole and several other bloggers who are now some of my closest blogging friends!

4. Email PR companies

Sometimes a simple email saying hello and introducing yourself is just as effective in getting in their radar or even making it on their influencer list. If there is a specific brand you want to work with, or event you want to go to, google who runs their public relations and shoot them an email. Sign up below for my  simple PR Pitch email template that has gotten me into some of the best events and shows in NYFW! It is seriously so easy to use and great to just introduce yourself. I send these out to several PR firms a month just to be on their radar for future collaboration opportunities.

SHOP THIS LOOK:

How adorable is the red ruffle romper? I wore this to a fashion show event a couple of weeks ago. This was one of the many cute pieces I received from my Bollare show room appointment at NYFW (read more here). I love the black ribbon detail around the waist and neck and how it ties perfectly with these black strappy block heels, my Bauble Bar drop earrings  and my favorite Rebecca Minkoff bag. And now that the weather is cooler, it is perfect to layer with this everyday Moto jacket.

I hope you enjoyed this look and my four tips to growing your network as a blogger. For more blogging tips check out these Blogging 101 post and some of my favorites below:
