2 Ways to Wear Pattern Mixing
Who says you can’t pattern mix when it comes to fashion? I am probably the biggest perpetrator when it comes to mixing pattern. I love Aztec prints and though most people like to pair it with solid colors, I loved how it coordinated perfectly with this black and white striped dress. 10 Things I’m Thankful For as A New Mom
Last year today, I remember being 8 months pregnant, swollen from head to toe, and missing Thanksgiving dinner after almost having a terrifying experience of getting my wedding ring stuck on my swollen finger. It was a crazy time for me and my husband, we were house hunting, last minute trying to get everything ready for our new bundle of joy. I didn’t really have time to count my blessings at that time, but I also didn’t realize how much my life would change since then.
Fast forward to today and as I sit in our new home with our 10 month old baby boy I can look back and say I am thankful for a lot of things this year as a new mom. There’s a lot of things I’ve taken for granted in my life, but now as a mom I have full appreciation for. Here are my top 10 things I am thankful for this year!
Chanel Inspired Fringe Tweed Jacket
So this past month since we moved into our new home, my husband and I have been exploring our new hobby of antiquing and refurbishing old furniture. I love the idea of making something old new again. One day while out antiquing we decided to stop at a Goodwill to see if we could find an old table or dresser. Though we didn’t find any luck with furniture I did stumble on this beautiful vintage tweed blazer. Continue reading “Chanel Inspired Fringe Tweed Jacket”
5 Golden Rules When Designing A Child’s Bedroom
On the blog, all the way from London, I have Domestic Clean London sharing with us the 5 Golden Rules When Designing a Child’s Bedroom. Here are 5 great tips I used when designing Jayden’s nursery. We wanted his room to be kid friendly, bright and airy, and something he can grow in. We chose a nautical adventure theme for two main reasons: one my husband works in the maritime industry and is training to be a Captain, and secondly we wanted my son to have a sense of imagination and adventure every time he escaped in his room. Most of his room was either a gift, a heirloom piece, or an affordable piece found online on Wayfair. We were able to save so much money by comparing prices and buying online at Wayfair that we wanted to give you a chance to win this classic white and grey chevron rug featured here from Wayfair. Below is a complete tour of Jayden’s nursery and a chance to enter to win.

Black and White with a Flare
Lately with all this rain, I’ve appreciated the need for fashion hats for the Fall. I’m a big fan for floppy hats and this has been one that has transitioned from summer to fall with me. As a mom, sometimes doing my hair is a luxury, and those days I can’t I love just throwing on a nice pair of jeans, a soft tee, and a hat. Continue reading “Black and White with a Flare”
Navy and Fur
Finally it’s starting to feel like fall here in Texas! As the weather cools down I love pairing up fall transitional pieces like this fur vest with a basic navy button down dress. This dress I bought over the summer on sale for less than $15! Continue reading “Navy and Fur”
Postpartum Depression From a new Mom’s Perspective

Recently, I’ve noticed actresses like Hayden Patinierre and Drew Barrymore opening up about their expriences with Postpartum depression. It’s something that is not really talked about because of the negative stigma behind it. When I first learned about postpartum depression it was a big controversy surrounding the Andrea Yates Case when she drowned her 5 children. I never really comprehended the issue, and still couldn’t believe how that was a thing, until I became a mom. And though Andrea Yates case may be a severe case and on the far end of the spectrum, I can finally understand from a mother’s perspective. Having a child completely changes you, and the reality is there is no preparation or advice that can really get your prepared for what happens when you have a kid. So for all my future mommas, and readers out there here is my personal story of postpartum depression. Continue reading “Postpartum Depression From a new Mom’s Perspective”
Pleather and the Eleven O’clock Curfew
This past weekend my husband and I had the opportunity to attend a close friend’s birthday at the new Oporto in Midtown. The restaurant was amazing, great venue, reasonable prices, good food, and amazing white sangria. If you haven’t been there it, I would highly recommend it. Plus they have their own parking garage and valet which makes it so much more convenient with all the traffic and construction down there.
